First released in 1993 as a vinyl EP and a split CD with Emperor, Enslaved’s Hordanes Land is considered a key release in the development of Viking metal.
This By Norse Music re-issue for Record Store Day 2023 features reworked deluxe artwork on a 350g reverse board cover, bronze with black splatter vinyl, and exclusive liner notes and quotes by major figures of the Black Metal scene, such as Sakis Tolis (Rotting Christ), Lee Barret (Candlelight) and Hrymr (Helheim) among others. The original songs have been entirely remastered by Iver Sandoy at Solslottet Studio (Bergen, Norway) and a bonus track, «Enslaved», from the 1992 Enslaved split with Satyricon «Yggdrasill», has been added.
